How JINGRONG Evaluates Release Performance

Article Content

 Why Test Method Control Matters
Release force can change with reference tape, roller pressure, dwell time, conditioning, peel speed, peel angle and temperature. A result without its test conditions is incomplete.

Selected Internal QC Reference
For selected internal QC checks, JINGRONG uses a defined reference tape and controlled sample preparation, including Tesa 7475 and a 2 kg roller with three passes. This is an internal reference method and should not be assumed to be identical to every customer's laboratory method.

What We Evaluate
Depending on the product and application, evaluation can include initial release, aged release, coating appearance, winding quality, thickness or basis weight, release consistency across the web and compatibility observations after lamination.

Comparing Supplier and Customer Results
When results differ, first align the test tape, sample direction, dwell time, roller procedure, peel speed, peel angle, conditioning temperature and units. Method differences can create apparent quality differences.

Application Validation
Laboratory QC confirms consistency against an agreed method. It does not replace a production trial with the customer's actual adhesive, coating weight, machine tension, temperature and storage cycle.

FAQ

Q: Does JINGRONG always test with Tesa 7475?

A: Tesa 7475 is used for selected internal QC checks. Customer-specific or project-specific methods may require different reference materials and conditions.

Q: Why can two labs get different release values?

A: Differences in tape, dwell time, roller pressure, peel speed, angle, temperature and sample conditioning can materially affect results.

Q: Is release force the only QC item?

A: No. Substrate properties, coating quality, winding, dimensional consistency and application compatibility may also be important.

Technical Note

Release-liner performance is application-specific. Values and material choices should be confirmed using an agreed test method and, where possible, the customer's actual adhesive and converting conditions.
